Kate

Kate, a bay area native, graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University located in Georgia. She has lived all over the bay area (from the south bay, north bay, and San Francisco) and has continued her travels across the US as she has resided in areas of the west coast, southern US, and even Hawaii! She knew from the beginning of her career that pediatrics was for her culminating in 4 years of practicing applied behavioral analysis before finding her passion in pediatric occupational therapy practice. She focuses her practice using frames of references including sensory processing, biomedical, and family based approaches.

Kate has experience working with a wide range of diagnoses in both the outpatient and early intervention settings including (but not limited too): Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Downs Syndrome, seizure disorders, Global Developmental Delay, Fragile X Syndrome, Rett Syndrome, genetic mutations, physical disabilities, and Sensory Processing Disorder. She prides herself as being a play based therapist that believes learning occurs best when it is motivating and catered to the child’s interests and needs.

Kate continues her education as an occupational therapist in areas including integrated listening system, handwriting without tears, and the AEIOU and SOS approach to feeding. She currently lives in San Francisco with her husband and their two cats (Nala & Simba). When not treating children, Kate can be found hiking along the coast in Northern CA, walking chrissy field, and enjoying good food with friends out and about in the beautiful city of San Francisco!
